How to create a free website for your shop

No developer, no hosting bill. Step by step on menutables — register, build your catalog, and share a link customers can use today.

Customers look you up online before they leave home. If there is no clear page with your items, prices, and how to order, they go to whoever is easier to reach — even when your product is better.

Going digital is not a luxury for restaurants, cafes, and shops. It is a front door: new guests, delivery orders, reservations, or at least “see the menu and call.” The good news: you do not need an agency or a month-long “website project.”

menutables gives you a free shop site at a link like `yourname.menutables.com`, plus a mobile dashboard to add items and receive orders. Below is the full path — from sign-up to sending the link to your first customer.

1. Open the registration page

Go to menutables.com/register on phone or laptop. Sign-up is free and needs no card.

2. Choose your shop name and business type

Type your shop name — that is what customers will see. menutables generates your shop link underneath. Tap “Edit” if you want a different slug, and wait for the green link available message.

Then pick what you sell — restaurant, cafe, grocery, furniture, electronics, fashion, and more. That choice shapes your storefront and order options.

3. Continue with Google — the fastest path (recommended)

Tap Continue with Google. No password to remember, no waiting for an email. Your Google account opens the dashboard immediately.

Why we recommend Google: you will open the dashboard from your phone many times a day. One-tap sign-in means you can change a price or mark an item unavailable in seconds.

Prefer email? Enter it and tap Open shop for free. You will get a link to set a password.

4. Install the staff app on your phone

After login, install the admin app — not from an app store, from the browser (PWA):

The app keeps orders close and sends push alerts when a new ticket arrives. Enable them under More → Order notifications.

5. Meet the dashboard

The dashboard shows revenue, orders, visits, and add-to-cart counts — a quick health check for the shop.

At the top, View shop opens your live customer site. Use it after every batch of changes to confirm everything looks right.

6. Use iMenu — the smart assistant

In the middle of the dashboard you will find iMenu: shortcuts like add item, import menu from a photo, create an offer, or change shop appearance.

If setup feels heavy on day one, tap Use the smart assistant and say what you want to do — it routes you to the right screen.

7. Add products and photos

From the Menu tab in the bottom bar, or iMenu → Add item:

  1. Pick a category.
  1. Enter name and description.
  1. Set the price. Leave it at 0 if the price is not fixed yet — customers will see “Based on negotiation.”
  1. Upload photos — the first one is the cover.
  1. Tap Save changes.

8. Modifiers (optional)

For sizes, extras, or drink choices, go to Menu → Modifiers and create a modifier group: name, single or multi select, min/max, and price per option.

9. More settings

The More tab holds customers, ratings, branches, team, settings, and profile. Under Settings you can set currency, opening hours, delivery, and storefront look.
